쉽지만,  문맥에 따라 쓰임이 헷갈리기 쉬운 단어 consider에 대해서 정리해서 알아보겠습니다.

Consider  V. 1. 고려하다. 심사숙고하다  ( = think about )
                      She considered her long-term project.   
                     그녀는 자신의 장기 프로젝트를 심사숙고했다. 
                     주의! she considered about her long-term project. (about 사용하면 안 됨)

                    2. (~한 상황/사람들을) 고려하다.
                     Before making a decision, you should consider other members. 
                     결정을 내리기 전에, 다른 멤버들을 고려해야 합니다.
                    
                  3. A를 B로 여기다.    consider AB
                     He considers me his mentor. 그는 나를 그의 멘토로 여깁니다.
                     I am considered his mentor. (수동태 문장으로 더 자주 쓰임)
                     나는 그의 멘토로 여겨집니다.

 

1. consider A를 B로 여기다. 간주하다.

   위에서 간단히 설명한 바와 같이 consider AB 형태로 쓰이는 데, 비슷한 의미의 다른 표현들과 비교해서

    Considerable numbers of natural disasters that occur these days are sending us numerous warnings.

    요즘 발생하는 상당수의 자연재해들은 우리에게  수많은 경고를 보내고 있다.
